The Story behind a Fitness Leader
We started the interview by asking, “Who is Mamdoh Salah, and what inspired your journey into the fitness and wellness industry?”
Mamdoh Salah replied, “I am the Founder and CEO of FTW Sports & Wellness, a Certified Personal Trainer, and the Founder of Fitnessgym Hurghada. My journey began with a passion for helping people transform their lives through fitness. Over the years, I realized that fitness is not just about physical appearance; it is about confidence, health, longevity, and overall well-being. What inspired me most was seeing how proper training, nutrition, and motivation could positively impact someone’s life. That realization pushed me to build businesses that make professional fitness guidance more accessible and effective for people from all backgrounds.”
A Smarter Approach to Modern Fitness
The Arab Today: What is FTW Sports & Wellness, and how does it differentiate itself in the competitive fitness market?
Mamdoh Salah replied, “FTW Sports & Wellness was created to provide comprehensive fitness and wellness solutions that go beyond traditional gym services. Our mission is to combine expert coaching, innovative training methodologies, wellness education, and modern technology to help individuals achieve lasting results. What differentiates us is our personalized approach. Every client has unique goals, challenges, and physical capabilities. Rather than offering generic programs, we focus on customized fitness strategies that align with individual needs and lifestyles.
Our goal is not only to help clients get fit but also to create sustainable habits that improve their quality of life for years to come.”
Where Education Meets Leadership
The Arab Today: How did your Master’s Degree in Sport and Fitness Administration/Management influence your leadership approach?
Mamdoh Salah replied, “My Master’s Degree provided a strong foundation in sports management, project planning, leadership, and organizational development. While practical experience taught me how to train people effectively, higher education helped me understand how to build and scale fitness businesses strategically. The combination of academic knowledge and real-world experience allows me to make data-driven decisions, improve operational efficiency, and develop long-term growth strategies. It also strengthened my understanding of how leadership impacts team performance and customer satisfaction.”
Turning Vision into a Successful Gym

The Arab Today: As a fitness entrepreneur, what challenges did you face when launching Fitnessgym Hurghada?
Mamdoh Salah replied, “Like many entrepreneurs, I faced challenges related to market awareness, operational management, and customer acquisition. Building trust takes time, especially in a competitive industry where clients have many options. One of the most important lessons I learned was that consistency matters more than quick wins. Delivering exceptional service, maintaining professional standards, and focusing on client results helped us build a strong reputation and long-term customer loyalty. Success in fitness entrepreneurship comes from combining passion with discipline, strategy, and continuous improvement.”
Custom Fitness Plans That Work
The Arab Today: Why is personalized fitness coaching more effective than generic workout programs?
Mamdoh Salah replied, “Every person is different. Age, fitness level, medical history, body composition, lifestyle, and goals all influence how someone should train. Generic workout plans often fail because they ignore these factors. Personalized coaching allows trainers to create programs that maximize results while minimizing injury risk.
When clients receive individualized guidance, they are more motivated, more accountable, and more likely to achieve sustainable success. Personalization is no longer a luxury, it is becoming the standard in modern fitness coaching.”
The Digital Evolution of Fitness
The Arab Today: What role does technology play in the future of fitness and wellness?
Mamdoh Salah replied, “Technology is becoming an essential part of the fitness experience. Artificial intelligence, wearable devices, fitness applications, and digital coaching platforms provide valuable insights that help individuals train more effectively.
At the same time, technology should enhance-not replace-the human element. Coaches provide motivation, accountability, empathy, and personalized guidance that technology alone cannot replicate. The most successful fitness ecosystems will combine advanced technology with expert human coaching.”
Advice for Future Fitness Leaders
The Arab Today: What advice would you give aspiring fitness professionals and entrepreneurs?
Mamdoh Salah replied, “Invest in education, gain practical experience, and never stop learning. The fitness industry evolves quickly, so professionals must remain adaptable and committed to growth.
Focus on building trust rather than chasing short-term results. Develop strong communication skills, understand your clients’ needs, and prioritize delivering real value.
Most importantly, be patient. Long-term success is built through consistency, integrity, and a genuine passion for helping people improve their lives.”
A Vision for Health and Innovation
The Arab Today: What is your vision for the future of FTW Sports & Wellness?
Mamdoh Salah replied, “My vision is to establish FTW Sports & Wellness as a leading force in fitness innovation, wellness education, and performance coaching. We aim to expand our reach, embrace emerging technologies, and continue providing transformative experiences for clients.
The future is about creating healthier communities, empowering individuals, and making professional fitness guidance accessible to more people. That mission will continue to drive everything we do.”
The Vision behind FTW Fitness
Lastly, we asked, “You recently launched FTW Fitness, a companion app. What is it, and what makes it Egypt’s first holistic fitness-tech ecosystem?”
“FTW Fitness launched in March 2026, and it is our way of extending everything we believe about personalized coaching into a digital, always-on experience. We built it as Egypt’s first holistic fitness-tech ecosystem, bringing together mood-based training, a Recovery Score, music synced to heart rate during workouts, gamification, and adaptive wellness features in one place. At its core is our AI-powered Recovery Score, which looks at daily activity, sleep, and stress levels to dynamically adjust training intensity and nutrition recommendations for each person. The app is built around five key personas – gym goers, athletes, general wellness seekers, prenatal and postnatal users, and individuals managing diabetes, each represented for both men and women aged 16 to 45 – so the guidance someone receives actually reflects their health and lifestyle needs rather than a one-size-fits-all program. For me, FTW Fitness is more than an app; it is a lifestyle technology that makes fitness accessible, engaging, and sustainable, and it reflects the same philosophy that has guided everything we have built at FTW Sports & Wellness.” Mamdoh Salah concluded
