Interview With the Co-Leader of SupplyTeachers.ae
In this insightful conversation, we explore how a seasoned educator transitioned from years in the classroom to co-leading an innovative education recruitment platform. With a strong foundation in teaching and leadership, the vision goes beyond filling vacancies, focusing instead on continuity, quality, and building a sustainable education ecosystem that supports both schools and educators.
From Teaching to Transforming Recruitment
We started the interview by asking, “What inspired you to transition from classroom teaching to leading an education recruitment platform?”
The response was clear: “My career began as an Art and Design Technology teacher, with over two decades of experience across the UK and the UAE. During that time, especially as Head of Visual Arts, I saw firsthand how challenging it can be for schools to manage unexpected staff absences or find specialist teachers.
Those experiences inspired me to co-lead SupplyTeachers.ae, a platform designed to connect schools with qualified educators quickly and efficiently. Our goal is not just to fill gaps, but to ensure continuity in student learning and maintain high teaching standards.
By combining classroom experience with recruitment insight, we’re building a system that is reliable, transparent, and supportive, both for schools and for teachers seeking flexible, meaningful opportunities.”
Redefining Recruitment Models
The Arab Today: What makes SupplyTeachers.ae different from traditional recruitment agencies?
The reply emphasized innovation and practicality: “Traditional agencies often focus on permanent placements, but schools today need flexibility. Our platform is designed around real world school needs, offering day to day supply teachers, teaching assistants, and long term staffing solutions.
We’ve built a model that includes a vetted database of qualified educators, a transparent pricing structure, and a pay as you go system. Schools only pay when they need support.
Beyond that, we’re creating a community of educators who are ready to step into classrooms confidently, even at short notice. It’s not just a database, it’s a professional network built on trust and quality.”
Leadership Rooted in Education
The Arab Today: How does your experience as an educator influence your leadership style?
The answer reflected a people first philosophy: “Teaching shapes how you lead. It builds patience, adaptability, and empathy, all essential qualities in leadership.
Having been in the position of teachers and school leaders, I understand their pressures, from safeguarding responsibilities to curriculum demands. That allows us to design services that genuinely support schools rather than adding complexity.
I believe in a collaborative leadership style where ideas are shared, communication is open, and relationships are prioritised. Education is fundamentally human, and leadership must reflect that.”
Innovation in Education Recruitment
The Arab Today: What role does innovation play in the future of education recruitment?
Innovation, it seems, is central to the vision: “The education landscape is evolving rapidly, especially in international markets. Schools expect faster, smarter, and more efficient hiring solutions.
Through our broader initiatives, we’re integrating technology into recruitment, from digital teacher profiles to systems that allow schools to access vetted candidates instantly.
But innovation doesn’t stop there. It also means supporting teachers with professional development and connecting them to global opportunities. Recruitment today is about building ecosystems, not just filling roles.”
A Vision for a Global Education Ecosystem
Lastly, we asked, “What is your long-term vision for Smart SPS and SupplyTeachers.ae?”
The response painted a compelling picture of growth and impact: “Our vision is to build a complete educational ecosystem, a growing tree with strong roots in trust and quality.
SupplyTeachers.ae is one of the first branches; ensuring schools always have access to reliable educators. But we’re expanding beyond that.
We’re developing new initiatives, including a Global Academy in the UK for homeschooling students, offering flexible and high quality learning pathways. We’re also preparing to launch an AI powered tutoring platform in 2026, designed to provide personalised learning support anytime, anywhere.
Together, these initiatives reflect our mission: to make education more accessible, adaptable, and future ready. Whether it’s a school needing a teacher tomorrow, a family exploring homeschooling, or a student seeking tailored support, we aim to be the trusted partner at every stage of the learning journey.”
