We started the interview by asking, “Dr. Mustafa, Henwood Sanitary has recently won two prestigious awards at the UAE Business Awards. What do these recognitions mean to you and your team?”

Dr. Mustafa Taher replied, “These awards, Best Bathroom & Plumbing Equipment Supplier and Excellence in Business Practices 2024, are more than just accolades. They are a validation of the values we have built Henwood upon: quality, consistency, and a customer-first service approach. For our team, it boosts morale and affirms that our attention to detail and long-term relationship building are making a difference. Personally, I see it as both a proud achievement and a reminder of our continued responsibility to raise industry standards across the Middle East and Africa.”

The Arab Today: What do you think sets Henwood apart from other players in the bathroom and plumbing supply space?

Dr. Mustafa Taher replied, “Our focus is on providing comprehensive solutions, not just selling products. Many companies supply bathroom fittings, but few ensure a fully coordinated, expertly installed, and supported solution. We aim to deliver peace of mind alongside every water heater or valve. Our relationships with top global brands like Jaquar ,Denovo,  RAK Ceramics, and many more, also allow us to provide premium yet practical solutions. Most importantly, our foundation is built on trust, which makes us different in a largely transactional market.

Henwood Trading has been an established name in the industry for over 25 years, and that legacy is what truly sets us apart. With decades of experience, we’ve cultivated deep-rooted connections and long-standing customer relationships. This history has helped us understand the market inside out and consistently deliver value, reliability, and service that goes beyond the sale.

The Arab Today: Your business covers a wide territory, including the Middle East and Africa. What are the logistical and operational challenges of operating across such diverse markets?

Dr. Mustafa Taher replied, “Every market has its own regulatory frameworks, customer needs, and infrastructure realities. For example, in Africa, water conservation is often essential, whereas in the GCC, design and brand prestige may take precedence. The main challenge is maintaining a consistent level of quality and service while adapting to local demands. We have built a flexible logistics network and strong local partnerships that allow us to remain responsive without compromising excellence.”

The Arab Today: Sustainability is becoming increasingly important in your industry. How is Henwood adapting to meet this demand?

Dr. Mustafa Taher replied, “Sustainability is not a trend, it is a necessity. We have expanded our product range to include sensor taps, Presmatic taps, and other water-saving fixtures. Our goal is to help clients reduce water usage without sacrificing functionality or design. Beyond products, we also advise customers on sustainable choices and practices; offering guidance on how they can reduce their overall environmental footprint in both residential and commercial settings.

As a company, we’ve taken steps toward sustainable packaging and responsible sourcing, ensuring our operations align with eco-conscious values. We believe sustainability must be embedded into every level of our business, from product selection to consumer education. We’re proud to play an active role in shaping a greener, more responsible future for our industry.”

The bathroom of the future will be intelligent, resource-efficient, and tailored to individual needs.
