Srecko Srdjak Designing Timeless Luxury with Strategic Precision

Srecko Srdjak Interview

In this interview with Srecko Srdjak, Founder and Creative Director of Grandiosa Design, we explore his unconventional transition from healthcare leadership to luxury interior design. Drawing on decades of experience scaling complex organizations, Srdjak shares how discipline, structure, and long-term vision underpin Grandiosa Design’s approach to timeless interiors. From Zagreb to Amsterdam and Dubai, he discusses leadership, innovation, and the strategic balance between creativity and commercial viability in a global design landscape.

Leadership Beyond Industries

The Arab Today: You transitioned from a long career in healthcare management into the luxury interior design industry with Grandiosa Design. How has your background in medical leadership shaped your approach to building and leading a design studio?

Srecko Srdjak replied,
“My professional background in healthcare leadership has profoundly shaped how I build and lead Grandiosa Design. Founding and scaling Adria Dental Group into one of the largest healthcare groups in the region, with over 500 employees, and establishing Dental Clinic Arena as one of Croatia’s leading private clinics taught me the weight of responsibility and the importance of long-term vision.

Healthcare operates in an environment where precision, trust, and accountability are non-negotiable. Every decision has real consequences. That mindset naturally transferred into design. At Grandiosa Design, creativity is supported by discipline through clear processes, strong operational structures, and uncompromising quality standards. My transition was not a departure from leadership, but its evolution.”

Designing Beyond Aesthetics

The Arab Today: Grandiosa Design emphasizes creating timeless and elegant spaces that go beyond mere aesthetics. What core design philosophy drives your vision for interior projects?

Srecko Srdjak replied,
“At the core of Grandiosa Design is a belief in timeless elegance, functionality, and emotional intelligence. We deliberately avoid short-lived trends and focus on interiors that age gracefully and remain relevant over time.

For us, luxury is not excess. It is intention. Every design decision must have clarity and meaning. Our highly structured design process includes in-depth concept development, curated moodboards, advanced 3D visualizations, and continuous collaboration with clients. Each project is treated as a bespoke narrative, translated into space with precision and restraint.”

Building a Global Design Studio

The Arab Today: What challenges did you face when establishing Grandiosa Design in Zagreb and expanding internationally to Amsterdam and Dubai?

Srecko Srdjak replied,
“Entering a competitive, design-savvy market required clear differentiation from the outset. Rather than competing on trends, we positioned ourselves as a studio delivering holistic, turnkey solutions, where strong conceptual thinking meets flawless execution.

International expansion introduced cultural and operational complexity, but those challenges became strengths. They pushed us to refine workflows, build strategic partnerships, and develop a globally adaptable design language. Today, that adaptability allows us to operate across markets while maintaining a clear and consistent brand identity.”

Creativity Meets Commercial Reality

The Arab Today: How do you balance innovation, creativity, and commercial viability?

Srecko Srdjak replied,
“Innovation thrives within structure. At Grandiosa Design, we actively encourage creative exploration, including new materials, technologies, and spatial concepts, while strong project management ensures feasibility.

We maintain constant dialogue with clients to align ambition with reality. Creativity is most powerful when it is intentional, disciplined, and executable. This balance allows us to deliver projects that are artistically strong while remaining commercially sustainable.”

A Vision for the Next Chapter

The Arab Today: What are your strategic priorities for the next three to five years?

Srecko Srdjak replied,
“Our focus is on thoughtful international growth, deeper technological integration, and continuous refinement of our design methodology. Grandiosa Design is already strongly AI-oriented, both through our website and proprietary digital tools, which help clients better understand space, visualize concepts, and make informed decisions early in the process.

That said, the human factor will always remain essential. Creativity, experience, technical expertise, and strategic thinking cannot be automated. True excellence emerges where intelligent tools meet human insight.

A key advantage of our studio lies in the clarity of our conceptual projects. Our idejni projekti are not only visually compelling but also highly precise and easily interpretable by contractors. This minimizes misinterpretation, improves execution quality, and ensures the final result fully reflects the original vision.

Our ambition is not rapid expansion, but sustainable global recognition, positioning Grandiosa Design as a studio synonymous with elegance, intelligence, and long-term value creation.”
