Ready-to-wear and streetwear attract many people at Riyadh Fashion Week

The second edition of Riyadh Fashion Week has been very exciting in the past few days. Media, buyers, designers, sponsors, and fans have come together to see what Saudi Arabia’s fashion scene has to offer.

The first two days featured couture designers showing off their new collections, while the last half of the week focused on ready-to-wear and streetwear. In the front row, there were famous faces like Argentine-Spanish model Georgina Rodriguez, Swedish supermodel Elsa Hosk, Lebanese fashion influencer and eyewear designer Karen Wazen, and Egyptian actor Ahmed Malek.

On Saturday evening in Digital City, designer Mona Alshebil introduced her new collection of stylish, everyday outfits. “This collection means a lot to me because it was inspired by memories of my grandmother and her love for henna,” Alshebil shared. “I wanted to give henna a modern twist, so I created accessories like belts, scarves, and necklaces that reflect its joyful and festive spirit. I also focused on our identity, designing simple pieces that work well from day to night. Plus, we made sure to use eco-friendly fabrics and upcycled materials to support sustainability while keeping the outfits comfortable and elegant.”

Also presenting on Saturday were Abadia, Razan Alazzouni, Aram, and Kaf By Kaf. Kaf By Kaf made history at RFW by showing a robot named Sarah on the runway. Aram was started by Arwa Alammari, who is both a designer and a fashion consultant. Her collection wowed the audience with outfits featuring animal prints, like leopard pantsuits, zebra-style blazers, and bright yellow outfits.
