DWTC teams up with Informa to manage exhibitions and events, aiming for $700M in revenue

Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) and Informa said on Thursday that they will work together to start a new company called Informa International. This company will manage exhibitions and events in the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa.

DWTC-Informa Partnership

A new company called Informa International has been created and will have its main office in Dubai. It aims to earn over $700 million, according to a statement from DWTC.

Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of DWTC, said this partnership will help global trade and business grow, especially as major Dubai events like GITEX and Gulfood expand internationally.

The new company will focus on big business events such as meetings, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE). It will include exhibitions, training, and certification services from both DWTC and Informa in Dubai.

DWTC said the partnership has strong potential to grow fast and expand beyond Dubai and the Middle East into other high-growth regions worldwide.

Informa International is expected to start operating fully by late 2025. It plans to grow in regions like the Indian Subcontinent, Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Africa.

This move supports DWTC’s goal of increasing Dubai’s business events sector contribution to the economy, reaching $14.7 billion per year by 2033.

UAE’s Business Events Market

The UAE’s business events industry is expected to be worth $6.1 billion in 2025. It is predicted to nearly double to $11 billion by 2032, growing at an annual rate of 8.7%, according to a recent report.

Background

Informa has been operating in the UAE for about 25 years, focusing on business-to-business (B2B) events. DWTC has been running similar events in the country for over 40 years. It manages two major event venues in Dubai: the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center (DICEC) and the Dubai Exhibition Center (DEC).
