Tom Larsen Interview
In this in-depth conversation, Tom Larsen shares how Eloro Resources is advancing one of the most compelling polymetallic discoveries in the Americas. He discusses the strategic thinking behind Eloro’s focus on large-scale epithermal-porphyry systems, the significance of the Iska Iska project in Bolivia, and how disciplined exploration, technical rigor, and long-term vision are shaping the company’s growth. Together with insights into Eloro’s Peruvian assets, this interview offers a clear perspective on how modern exploration companies create value through science, strategy, and patience.
Tom Larsen
Tom Larsen is a mining executive and industry veteran with extensive experience in mineral exploration, project development, and capital markets. As a key leader at Eloro Resources, he is focused on building long-term shareholder value through the discovery and advancement of high-quality precious and base-metal assets across the Americas.
Unlocking a District-Scale Discovery
We began the interview by asking, “Tom, Eloro’s Iska Iska project has become a focal point for investors. What makes this asset so significant in today’s exploration environment?”
Tom Larsen replied,
“Iska Iska stands out because it brings together several elements that are rarely found in a single project. It is a large polymetallic epithermal-porphyry system with scale, strong grades, and multiple metals, including silver, tin, zinc, lead, copper, and gold.
What makes it particularly compelling is that this is not a single-zone discovery. It is a district-scale system with multiple mineralized domains that remain open. The NI 43-101 Technical Report prepared by Micon International validates the geological model and confirms the robustness of the system.
In addition, Iska Iska is road-accessible and royalty-free, which significantly enhances its long-term development potential. These fundamentals give us both confidence and flexibility as we continue to advance the project.”
Managing Risk Through Technical Discipline
The Arab Today: Advancing a project of this size involves complexity and risk. How does Eloro approach exploration risk management?
Tom Larsen replied,
“Exploration is always about balancing opportunity with discipline. At Iska Iska, we manage risk by being systematic and data-driven in everything we do.
We rely heavily on geological modeling, geophysics, geochemistry, and structural analysis to guide our decisions. Rather than drilling for short-term results, we focus on understanding the system as whole and prioritizing targets with the highest probability of success.
Equally important is the experience of our technical team. We have people who have worked on epithermal and porphyry systems around the world, particularly in Latin America. That experience helps ensure each exploration phase builds logically toward defining a resource and evaluating long-term development potential.”
Operating Across Bolivia and Peru
The Arab Today: Eloro operates in both Bolivia and Peru. How do these jurisdictions fit into your broader strategy?
Tom Larsen replied,
“Bolivia and Peru are both highly prospective mining jurisdictions with long histories of mineral production. They also require a thoughtful, responsible approach.
In Bolivia, Iska Iska is located in a region with a deep mining culture. Our focus is on maintaining strong relationships with local communities and operating transparently and responsibly. That is essential for long-term success.
Peru complements our portfolio through the La Victoria Gold and Silver Project. It is located in the North-Central Mineral Belt, close to major producing mines. Having assets in both countries allows us to diversify risk while maintaining exposure to world-class geological environments.”
The Strategic Role of La Victoria
The Arab Today: How does La Victoria fit alongside Iska Iska in Eloro’s growth plans?
Tom Larsen replied,
“La Victoria gives Eloro additional optionality. While Iska Iska is clearly our flagship asset, La Victoria is located in a proven mining district and offers meaningful upside.
We hold an 82 percent interest, which provides strong leverage and flexibility. The project can be advanced through continued exploration, partnership, or other strategic options. Importantly, it reinforces that Eloro is not a single-asset company, which is critical from both a valuation and risk management perspective.”
Defining the Next Phase of Value Creation
The Arab Today: What key milestones should investors be watching over the next 12 to 24 months?
Tom Larsen replied,
“The next phase is about transforming exploration success into clearly defined value. At Iska Iska, that means continued drilling to expand and upgrade mineralized zones, refining the geological model, and progressing toward more comprehensive resource definition.
We are also advancing metallurgical work and evaluating economic parameters that are critical for long-term development. At the same time, we continue to engage with local stakeholders and regulators to ensure a clear and responsible path forward.
Our objective is to position Eloro as the owner of a globally significant polymetallic asset, one that can ultimately attract strategic interest while delivering long-term value to shareholders.”
A Long-Term Vision for Modern Exploration
Lastly, we asked, “What defines success for Eloro in the years ahead?”
Tom Larsen concluded,
“Success is about building something enduring. It means advancing our projects with technical integrity, maintaining strong relationships with communities and stakeholders, and making decisions that stand up over time.
If we continue to do that, the value creation will follow. Our focus remains on discovery, discipline, and long-term vision.”
