NMDC Energy and China’s Hilong have signed an agreement to look into working together on coating and materials services in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, according to a statement released on Tuesday.

NMDC Energy and Hilong Partnership

NMDC Energy and Hilong have agreed to work together to create better and more eco-friendly energy solutions in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. This partnership will help NMDC Energy grow its business and improve its services in the region.

NMDC Energy’s CEO, Ahmed Al Dhaheri, said the partnership will help both companies provide important services, especially in protecting metals and materials used in the energy industry in the UAE’s tough environment.

Hilong, based in Shanghai, China, makes special coatings and materials that protect industrial equipment from rust and damage. They focus on materials for oil and gas pipes, concrete coatings, and tools for checking pipelines.

NMDC Energy Projects

This partnership comes after NMDC Energy expanded its business by opening a $54.5 million fabrication yard in Ras Al Khair, Saudi Arabia. This yard will help improve both land and sea energy projects and can produce up to 40,000 tons each year.

NMDC Energy also extended its three-year agreement with Aramco, showing its strong role in big offshore projects. The agreement includes full services like design, buying materials, building, transporting, installing, and preparing offshore equipment.

In January, NMDC Energy won a $1.14 billion contract from Taiwan Power Company. This project includes building and installing a 111-kilometer underwater gas pipeline along Taiwan’s west coast.

The company said it will soon announce more partnerships and provide updates on key projects in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Taiwan, Vietnam, and the UAE.

Quarterly Results

In the first quarter of the year, NMDC Energy’s revenue grew by 75% compared to last year, reaching $1 billion (AED 3.7 billion). Its profit also rose 25% to $59.1 million (AED 217 million), thanks to strong performance and new projects. The company won $3.8 billion (AED 13.9 billion) worth of new contracts during this time.
