Alexandria Shiryl Moore Interview
Alexandria Shiryl Moore is a powerhouse in educational and sports philanthropy, with over 20 years of experience empowering colleges, universities, and high-profile clients across the NBA, NFL, and HNWI sectors. As the Head of the Private Client Philanthropic Division at AKA#47, she specializes in designing million-dollar fundraising events, strategic sponsorship programs, and global wealth-impact initiatives. Beyond philanthropy, Alexandria advocates for digital rights and ethical cybersecurity after experiencing discriminatory online interference, using her voice to push for stronger protections and accountability across digital platforms. Her mission remains rooted in her guiding principle: “Helping Others, You’ll Never Go Wrong.”
The Origin of a Purpose-Driven Career
We started the interview by asking, “Alexandria, what inspired your journey into philanthropy, and how has your mission evolved over the past two decades?”
Alexandria Shiryl Moore replied, “My journey began in 2003, rooted in the belief that helping others never leads you astray. Initially, I focused on small community initiatives, but as my network grew, so did my vision. Today, I collaborate with universities, athletes, and high-net-worth individuals to create large-scale giving programs that sustain education and community growth. Over the years, I’ve seen philanthropy evolve from simple donations to strategic impact investments empowering institutions and individuals to create long-term change. My mission now is to redefine giving as not just charity, but as a smart, sustainable force for transformation.”
Closing Financial Gaps in Higher Education
The Arab Today: As Head of Educational Philanthropy at AKA#47, how do you help institutions bridge financial gaps?
Alexandria Shiryl Moore replied, “At AKA#47, I design creative fundraising models that bring both visibility and sustainability to colleges and universities. We organize golf tournaments, celebrity Hall of Fame galas, and corporate-sponsored events that raise substantial funds while engaging communities. My goal is to align donor interests with institutional needs whether that’s through scholarships, infrastructure, or research programs. I also work closely with sponsors to ensure their contributions yield measurable results. It’s about transforming generosity into tangible progress for educational institutions that shape future generations.”
Guiding Athletes toward Meaningful Impact
The Arab Today: You’ve worked extensively with professional athletes. How do you help them integrate philanthropy into their careers?
Alexandria Shiryl Moore replied, “Athletes hold immense influence, and I help them use that platform for good. I advise NBA and NFL players on philanthropic tax advantages, event creation, and foundation management. Many athletes want to give back but lack the structure to do it effectively. I guide them through establishing their own philanthropic events tied to their sports themes or personal causes from charity golf tournaments to youth mentorship programs. This approach not only enhances their legacy but also creates lasting community impact beyond the game.”
Inside the $1,000,000 Dream Giveaway
The Arab Today: The $1,000,000 Dream Giveaway is a remarkable initiative. Could you tell us about its vision and impact?
Alexandria Shiryl Moore replied, “The Dream Giveaway is a creative fundraising model that combines excitement with purpose. Participants can win luxury prizes or a $1,000,000 life insurance policy through Prudential, while their entries support educational and community programs. It’s a win-win approach engaging donors while funding real-world impact. This initiative reflects our mission to innovate philanthropy by integrating finance, insurance, and giving. It also promotes awareness about life insurance as a financial empowerment tool, helping families secure their futures while supporting education.”
Global Citizenship through Investment
The Arab Today: You also represent the Portugal Secondary Visa Investment Program. How does this tie into your philanthropic work?
Alexandria Shiryl Moore replied, “The Portugal Golden Visa program allows affluent clients to invest €500,000 in private equity funds, such as Pela Terra, to obtain residency and eventual citizenship. What makes it special is that it blends wealth management with social responsibility. I work with clients who wish to expand their global presence while contributing to sustainable projects. Many reinvest part of their returns into philanthropic ventures funding education, housing, and green initiatives. This global approach aligns with my philosophy: combining financial growth with meaningful impact.”
Publishing as a Platform
The Arab Today: You’ve also launched AKA#47 Publishing. What inspired this venture, and how does it connect to your philanthropic vision?
Alexandria Shiryl Moore replied, “Publishing is another form of empowerment. With AKA#47 Publishing, we give authors and entrepreneurs a platform to share stories that inspire social change. Through The Black Debutante Tales series, I highlight cultural narratives that often go unheard celebrating resilience, ambition, and excellence. The publishing arm also supports literacy programs and young writers in underserved communities. It’s an extension of my philanthropic mission to educate, uplift, and give voice to those shaping tomorrow’s narrative.”
The Principle behind Every Philanthropic Action
The Arab Today: What guiding principle drives your work, and what advice would you give to aspiring philanthropists?
Alexandria Shiryl Moore replied, “My guiding principle has always been: “Helping others, you’ll never go wrong.” True philanthropy isn’t about wealth it’s about intention. Start where you are, use what you have, and give what you can. Whether it’s your time, expertise, or resources, every act of kindness creates ripples of change. For aspiring philanthropists, I’d say focus on sustainability, not symbolism. Build partnerships, measure your impact, and stay authentic in your purpose. The world doesn’t just need donors it needs visionaries committed to creating lasting good.”
Standing Up for Cyber Rights
Lastly we asked, “You recently spoke out about online discrimination and unauthorized digital interference. How does your advocacy extend to cyber laws and digital ethics?”
“Yes — that statement came from a very personal place. After experiencing discriminatory online actions and unauthorized interference across my social media platforms, I decided to speak out publicly. Over 47,000 personal and professional photos were deleted, erasing decades of memories and documentation of philanthropic milestones. These actions are not just unethical; they violate digital rights, privacy, and anti-discrimination laws.
I now advocate for stronger cyber laws and ethical accountability to protect individuals especially women and minority professionals against digital manipulation and tampering. My goal is to bring awareness to this issue, encourage documentation, and push for legal compliance across all digital platforms. Philanthropy isn’t just about giving financially it’s also about standing up for justice and digital integrity in an increasingly connected world.” Alexandria Shiryl Moore concluded
