Burj Khalifa Emptied After Israel-Iran Conflict Reaches Gulf
Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, was evacuated after loud explosions were heard in the city, according to media reports. The incident happened during rising tensions between Israel, the United States, and Iran.
Iran launched missile attacks targeting places in the Gulf region. These included Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Doha in Qatar, and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. These cities are known to host American military staff and facilities.
Residents in Dubai said they heard loud blasts and saw missiles in the sky. Some people described the explosions as very powerful. One witness said the blast was so strong that it made windows shake. Reports said there were explosions earlier in the day, followed by more later.
The UAE’s Ministry of Defence confirmed that a civilian of Asian nationality was killed in Abu Dhabi. The person died after missile debris fell into a residential area. In an official statement, the ministry said such attacks are a serious escalation and put civilians at risk. It also said these actions threaten public safety and regional stability.
The latest violence began after joint military action by the United States and Israel against Iran. The US Department of Defense called the operation “Operation Epic Fury.” The strikes were aimed at targets in Tehran, the capital of Iran. Israel said that Mohammad Pakpour, the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was killed in the attack.
After the US and Israeli strikes, Iran responded by launching many missiles toward Israel. The Israeli military described it as a heavy wave, or “barrage,” of missiles.
The conflict also affected other Gulf countries. In Bahrain, emergency sirens sounded after a missile threat targeting the headquarters of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet. Bahrain’s interior ministry confirmed the alert but did not immediately report damage.
Explosions were also reported in Doha, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Riyadh. These cities are important locations for US military operations in the region. However, Qatar said it successfully stopped incoming missiles. Qatari officials said no injuries or property damage were reported in residential areas. They added that early checks showed no civilian casualties.
The situation has increased tension across the Gulf. Governments in the region are closely monitoring events and have warned about the danger of further escalation. Many countries are calling for calm and urging all sides to avoid more military action.
For residents in affected cities, the events caused fear and uncertainty. Public buildings were evacuated as a safety step, including the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Authorities acted quickly to ensure people were safe.
The conflict between Israel, the United States, and Iran now appears to be spreading beyond their borders, involving several Gulf nations. World leaders are watching closely, as more attacks could threaten stability in the Middle East.
