From Curiosity to CRO: Mukul Kaushik’s Journey in Affiliate Marketing and App Growth

Mukul Kaushik Interview

In this exclusive conversation, we sit down with Mukul Kaushik, Chief Revenue Officer at Trackier and Apptrove, to explore his inspiring journey from a curious university student experimenting with digital marketing to a global leader driving revenue growth for two powerful tech platforms. With Trackier, Mukul is helping businesses worldwide manage and scale their affiliate marketing programs, while through Apptrove, he empowers brands to optimize app installs, engagement, and retention with precision. From his early entrepreneurial lessons to scaling international markets, Mukul shares insights on innovation, resilience, and the future of performance marketing.

From curiosity to a career

We started the interview by asking, “What first sparked your interest in tech and affiliate marketing?”

Mukul Kaushik replied, “Back in 2013, while still in university, I searched “how to make money online” and stumbled upon blogging and Instagram content creation. Within a few months, I had organically built a 15,000+ follower base. That early win sparked my passion for digital marketing and eventually led me to freelance on projects across industries. Fast forward to today, that same curiosity drives my work at Trackier and Apptrove. At Trackier, we help businesses scale affiliate marketing with a powerful SaaS platform that gives them end-to-end control of their performance campaigns. At Apptrove, we empower brands to optimize app performance and user acquisition with precision. Looking back, it’s amazing how a small moment of curiosity evolved into leading revenue growth for products that now help companies worldwide achieve measurable success in marketing and app performance.”

Turning Early Setbacks into Stepping Stones

The Arab Today: How did launching PicNtic shape your entrepreneurial mindset?

Mukul Kaushik replied, “
PicNtic, my first startup in 2017, was an outstation car rental service. It ran for about 1.5 years before we decided to close it down. While it didn’t work out as planned, it was the best crash course in entrepreneurship I could’ve asked for. I learned that scaling without a solid operational backbone can be risky, and that understanding your market deeply is non-negotiable. Those lessons now influence how I lead at Trackier and Apptrove. In both companies, we focus on solving real pain points for our customers — whether that’s helping marketers manage complex affiliate campaigns with Trackier’s intuitive platform, or enabling app developers to boost installs and engagement with Apptrove’s optimization tools. PicNtic taught me that products must be both impactful and adaptable to thrive in competitive markets — a principle I carry every day in my current roles.”

Where Curiosity Met Opportunity

The Arab Today: What made joining Trackier a turning point in your career?

Mukul Kaushik replied, “Joining Trackier was a defining moment because it allowed me to merge my digital marketing expertise with a product that genuinely changes how companies run their performance marketing. Trackier’s platform equips businesses to track, manage, and scale affiliate programs globally — and I got to be part of that growth story. Over time, I moved from sales leadership into my current CRO role, expanding into Apptrove as well. With Apptrove, we tackle the fast-paced app ecosystem, helping brands improve user acquisition, retention, and ROI with real-time performance insights. The shift wasn’t just about job titles; it was about becoming a driver of strategic growth for solutions that I truly believe in. Both Trackier and Apptrove give me the opportunity to work with global clients, solve high-stakes challenges, and lead teams toward measurable, sustainable results.

Building scalable revenue models

The Arab Today: How do you approach revenue growth across Trackier, Affnook, and Apptrove?

Mukul Kaushik replied, “Each brand serves a distinct audience. At Trackier, our focus is on giving performance marketers a robust, customizable SaaS platform to manage affiliate campaigns, track KPIs, and scale globally with confidence. With Apptrove, the mission is different — we’re laser-focused on mobile app growth, helping brands optimize installs, engagement, and monetization. Affnook, on the other hand, empowers publishers in the iGaming space to connect with high-value opportunities. My growth approach for all three relies on understanding the customer journey deeply, using data-driven decision-making, and forging strong partnerships. We invest in tech that keeps us ahead of market trends and create processes that scale without losing the personal touch. Whether it’s refining Trackier’s automation capabilities or enhancing Apptrove’s analytics engine, revenue growth comes from continually evolving our products to match our clients’ ambitions.”

Collaboration isn’t just a value

The Arab Today: What role does collaboration play in your leadership style?

Mukul Kaushik replied, “Collaboration is the engine behind our success at Trackier and Apptrove. In SaaS and performance marketing, innovation doesn’t happen in silos — it happens when sales, product, marketing, and customer success work as one. My role as CRO is to make sure everyone understands the “why” behind our goals, so execution feels aligned and purposeful. At Trackier, that might mean brainstorming with the product team to refine campaign tracking features based on customer feedback. At Apptrove, it could be collaborating with data analysts to uncover patterns that help clients boost app retention rates. I also extend this collaborative approach beyond our walls — hosting discussions, attending industry events, and engaging with partners globally. This culture of shared ownership not only strengthens our teams but also ensures that our clients experience the combined expertise and passion of the entire organization.”

Skills That Defined the Journey

The Arab Today: What key skills helped you grow from freelancer to CRO?

Mukul Kaushik replied, “The biggest skill was adaptability — something I now apply daily at Trackier and Apptrove. The performance marketing and mobile app industries change rapidly, and being able to pivot strategies without losing momentum is vital. Communication has also been crucial — whether I’m aligning global teams at Trackier to enter new markets or working with Apptrove’s partners to refine campaign performance. Data literacy is another big one; understanding analytics allows me to make informed decisions that directly impact growth. Finally, consistency — success doesn’t come from one big win, but from executing well over and over again. Those habits, combined with a deep understanding of customer needs, helped me transition from a one-person freelancer to someone now leading revenue strategies for products used by hundreds of businesses worldwide.”

Guiding the Next Generation

Lastly we asked, “What advice would you give to someone starting in affiliate marketing or app growth today?”

If you’re starting in affiliate marketing, begin by understanding the ecosystem — and a platform like Trackier can give you valuable exposure to campaign management, partner tracking, and performance optimization. Don’t just focus on making quick revenue; focus on building long-term partnerships and delivering measurable value. For those in the mobile app space, data is your best friend. Tools like Apptrove can help you monitor installs, engagement, and retention in real time, which is critical for sustainable growth. My biggest advice is to experiment constantly — what works today might not work tomorrow, so keep testing and adapting. And remember, relationships matter as much as metrics. Whether it’s affiliates, app users, or partners, success comes from creating a win-win scenario where everyone involved benefits.” Mukul Kaushik concluded
